Item description:
After a brief hiatus, we’re thrilled to add another knife to our Carbon Series—a collection inspired by the rich history and versatility of classic carbon steel tools.
The CS-5 is a nod to the classic patch knife, an essential piece of gear for frontiersmen and hunters alike.
Patch knives hold a special place in history, often serving as what amounts to frontier EDC knives. They were crucial for cutting patches for muzzleloading rifles and handling a variety of field tasks. With the CS-5, we’ve embraced this legacy, ensuring each knife is both functional and faithful to its heritage.
Constructed from 1095 carbon steel, each CS-5 is cold hammered, hand-ground, and heat-treated in-house.Handles are expertly crafted from American Elk with a natural micarta ferrule for superb blade fitment. Each blade showcases a striking fire-finish, born from the fires of the heat-treating process. The distinct combination of natural materials, randomized finishes, and excellent craftsmanship combine to make each piece a unique creation. And to top it off, each knife comes with a handmade leather sheath, built in-house.
This release stands as a testament to the enduring quality and craftsmanship that define our Carbon Series. We've poured our passion into crafting each knife, and we're confident you'll love the result.
*Please note: Elk antler is a natural material and will require a small amount of care on the part of the end user in order to stay looking beautiful. Elk antler should not be exposed to excessive heat or prolonged direct sunlight (ex: material can be damaged from leaving your knife in a very hot vehicle). On the same note, extreme moisture or prolonged excessive humidity can also damage your handle material.
*Carbon steel knives will develop a patina over time with use. This is a natural and authentic characteristic that enhances its appeal. Be sure to regularly clean and thoroughly dry them after use, apply a thin layer of food-safe mineral oil to the blade, and store them in a dry place away from moisture to prevent spot rusting.
